Ageplay is a consensual form of roleplaying in which individuals act or treat each other as if they were a different age than their biological age. This can include an older partner taking on the role of a parent or caretaker towards a younger partner who may adopt an infantile or toddler-like behavior and appearance. The motivations behind engaging in this activity vary from participants seeking a sense of security or comfort from a perceived loss of autonomy associated with infancy, to exploring aspects of developmental stages not experienced during normal growth, to fulfilling sexual fantasies related to certain age differences. Ageplay is often associated with other sexual practices such as diapering, pacifying, feeding, and being held or rocked. It does not necessarily involve actual abuse or exploitation of power dynamics that might exist between adults and minors. While some people may find this practice taboo or disturbing, it is important to recognize that consensual ageplay between adults is not considered harmful unless coercion, deception, or nonconsenting participation occurs.
