The act itself is often nonconsensual and may be used as a form of humiliation or degradation, perpetuating harmful gender norms and reinforcing harmful stereotypes about gender roles and expressions. The individuals involved in this practice might also use related terms such as 'forced feminization,' 'forcefem,' 'feminisation,' 'forced feminisation,' 'sissification,' 'forced femme,' or 'petticoating.'
