rape during the Darfur genocide

The use of rape as a tool or weapon of war during the ongoing Darfur conflict in Sudan which has been classified by some as genocide against the non-Arab population in Darfur, particularly the Fur, Zaghawa and Masai ethnic groups. This systematic and widespread sexual violence against women and girls, often perpetrated by government forces and associated militia groups, is considered to be one of the most underreported aspects of the broader humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
