Sexual consent refers to an informed and freely given agreement between all parties involved in a sexual encounter, explicitly indicating their willingness to participate in or continue with specific sexual activities. This agreement must be obtained through clear verbal or nonverbal communication that demonstrates full understanding of what is being agreed upon, as well as the ability to freely withdraw consent at any point during the interaction. The absence of silence or a lack of resistance does not constitute consent; instead, active and enthusiastic affirmative consent must be obtained and respected by both parties throughout the entirety of the sexual encounter.
